Musée du mur de l'atlantique à ciel ouvert.
The museum features one of the few preserved parts of the Atlantic Wall, a German defense dating fromWorld War II. It consists of a set of bunkers and trenches, partially restored to their original state. Prince Charles, who lived on the estate, has always opposed the demolition of its remains.
The majority of the defenses preserved on the site date from the time of the German construction of the Atlantic Wall during the occupation of Belgium during the World War II. During the war, numerous fortifications were built on the site, such as the Saltzwedel neu battery built to defend the port of Ostend against a possible Allied invasion. Many of the fortifications have been restored to their wartime condition. Uniforms worn by the garrison and equipment are also on display.
