Pors Loubous
Harbor history
Originally, Pors Loubous was a natural pass between the mainland and a large rock some ten meters from the shore. In 1887, this pass was closed to the south. In 1922 and 1923, a breakwater was built on the rock to better protect anchored boats, and a winch was installed to make it easier to hoist boats onto the cliff. The pier was raised and a parapet built on the rock in 1967 and 1997 respectively. Before the 1914 war, some 50 boats used the port.

A Mecca of the Resistance. Isolated in the nooks and crannies of the Capistine cliffs, out of sight of the German sentries, the shelter-ports played an important role in the activities of the shadow army. Many Resistance fighters, aided by the peninsula's seasoned sailors, joined or left French soil in the discretion of these havens of fortune. Among them, Honoré d'Estienne d'Orves docked a boat at Pors Loubous on the night of December 22, 1940. The Île de Sein pinnacean, "La Marie Louise", on which he had just crossed the English Channel, had dropped anchor further offshore. Captain d'Estienne d'Orves was commissioned by General de Gaulle to organize an intelligence network in western France. Before him, other members of the Nemrod network, Maurice Barlier and Yan Luis Doornik, had already landed at Pors Loubous in the preceding weeks. All were arrested on January 20, 1941 and shot at Mont-Valérien on August 29 of the same year. On February 21, "La Marie Louise" was boarded by the krieg Marine and its 6 crew members deported.

That night, four men were aboard the dinghy. Jean-François Follic and Pierre Cornec, respectively skipper and crew member of "La Marie Louise", hold the oars. Next to them, Honoré d'Estienne d'Orves and "Marty", a radio quartermaster who accompanies him. It was the latter who, some weeks later, would denounce Honoré d'Estienne d'Orves to the Gestapo
