Creac'h Burguy massacre

So one village, Créac'h-Burguy lies on this August 8, 1944 on the front line between the American troops and the fanatical German paratroopers from who came as reinforcements to defend Brest.

At 4:00 pm two gunshots break out in the hamlet and the reaction of the SS isn't long in coming, they round up two families (the Kermarec and the Priser), the women are then removed from the group while at the same time SS paratroopers set fire to the neighboring farm.
The farm workers worried by the fire are in turn arrested, and a few minutes later a burst of machine-gun fire tears the eerie silence...
7 men:   Yves Glévarec, René Kermarec, François-Louis Priser, François Priser, Hervé Ulvois, Jean-Marie Ulvois and Émile Picard are then coldly shot dead.

Every August 8, in Créac'h-Burguy  a commemoration takes place in memory of this tragic event.
