Chicamour fights

Stèle paying tribute to the 11 victims of the Chicamour fighting.
On August 12, 1944, an ambush was organized at this location in order to "requisition" vehicles from German troops in order to obtain the logistics needed to organize the attack on Orleans ordered by Colonel O'Neill.
The operation turns tragic, for after seizing an ambulance, the maquisards attack the next vehicle, which turns out to be the first in a column of 8 vehicles of German soldiers!
